Develop practical skills to confidently advocate for yourself at university and beyond.

Join Lisa Chiang (Griffith Counselling & Wellbeing) and Sarah Cardiff (SRC Student Advocacy Team) for this interactive workshop exploring how to communicate your needs, navigate challenges, and access support with confidence.

 

Workshop Overview

Self-advocacy is an important skill that can help you succeed throughout your studies and in your personal and professional life.

Through practical examples, discussion, and reflection activities, you'll learn how to:

  • Communicate your needs effectively.
  • Navigate difficult conversations with confidence.
  • Understand the support services available to you.
  • Set healthy boundaries.
  • Build confidence in speaking up for yourself in academic, personal, and professional settings.

There will be opportunities for participation throughout the session, with practical strategies you can begin using immediately.
