We would like to welcome you to Griffith University on behalf of the Afro Griffith club. You might be wondering what Afro-Griffith is all about. we are a group of international students who have decided to give themselves a voice. The club was founded by five African students who believed that African culture should be celebrated at the university, and what better way to do so than by forming a community to share, express, and learn about African culture in a fun and exciting way? This is a club run entirely by students for students. The majority of our members are international students who have traveled thousands of miles for education but still want to feel at home. one would say that we are all in search of somewhere to call "home". we all know the famous saying "home is where love resides, memories are created, friends always belong and laughter never ends" so why not to create a family you can call home here at the university?
Importantly, Afro Griffith is a welcoming community for people from all walks of life, ethnicities, and cultures. An African society here at the heart of Griffith university Gold coast. We host events where students can mingle and socialize, make connections, and seek assistance if necessary. Griffith CritCare Society is a medical interest society for Griffith University Medical Students interested in pursing a career in the various fields of Critical Care medicine. We aim to educate and broaden students across the fields of emergency medicine, anaesthetics, intensive care, trauma and acute surgery, and retrieval medicine.

We aim to deliver high-yield clinical skills workshops and educational seminars which will be developed and presented by current practicing doctors. Will will also run the annual Griffith Emergency Medical Challenge in April each year for students to put their clinical skills into practice, as well as multiple social and networking events.

Griffith Racing Team competes in Formula SAE, a worldwide competition with almost 600 competing universities. Students design, construct and race an internal combustion or electric open wheel race car of up to 710cc/80kW over the course of a year culminating in an annual competition in Melbourne.

The competition allows for students to develop their skills in design, management, manufacturing, communication, research and business operations in a real world environment. All disciplines welcome.

Griffith University's Cheer Team offer both beginner and intermediate levels of cheer. We are a competitive sporting club attending competitions throughout the year with the Australian All Star Cheerleading Federation (AASCF) and have the opportunity to compete at a national level. We perform hip hop and contemporary in dance and a number of skills in cheer ranging from basic stunts to acrobatic stunts and tumble (very similar to gymnastics) as well as developing teamwork and friendship along the way.

The Griffith University Volleyball Club, otherwise known as GUVC has been going since 1994. When the club was first started it had 19 members from just Nathan campus in its first year. Nowadays it is a fully-fledged Volleyball Queensland affiliated club boasting members from all over South-East Queensland.

GUVC offers both social volleyball for not just Griffith university students but also the public and training each week for competitive teams and players who train for University Games and other external competitions.

GUVC is not just a sporting club, but a community. We want to ensure that everyone has a great time. It is very important to us that everyone gets along and comes together as a big family. This year we hope to have regular social outings to take a break from the grueling sport that is Volleyball and to enjoy eachother's company. Serotonin is a mixed vocal group who sing in the a cappella (unaccompanied) style and are situated at Griffith University, Gold Coast Campus.

Serotonin is a constantly evolving and growing group aiming to spread the sonic recreation of college a cappella. Each year, we perform in the Australian A Cappella Championship - AUSACA, have performed in Carnegie Hall in New York, represented the Gold Coast in the Chengdu International Sister Cities Youth Music Festival in Chengdu, China as well as performing in many local settings.

Our repertoire currently spans several genres and continues to grow. We are heavily inspired by films and television shows such as Pitch Perfect, Glee and The Sing-Off.
